Porta Potty Rental Questions and Answers
59 questions Chambersburg-area renters ask before they book, with straight answers.
Booking and delivery
How far ahead should I book a porta potty?
Book 1 to 2 weeks ahead for weekend events from May to October, when units sell out. Job sites and home rentals in Franklin County can often be booked the same day by 12 p.m.
Can you deliver a porta potty today?
Same-day delivery is available when you call by 12 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and a unit and route are open. A rush fee of about $95 to $150 applies. See same-day delivery.
Can you deliver Saturday and pick up Sunday or Monday?
Saturday delivery is available. Pickup happens the next business day, usually Monday, at no extra cost.
Do you deliver on Sundays?
We do not run Sunday routes. Sunday events get the unit on Friday or Saturday.
Why do you deliver the day before my event?
Drivers run routes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and cannot promise an exact hour. Delivering the day before means the unit is ready when guests arrive, and the price is the same.
Can you guarantee a delivery time?
We give a window, not an exact time. Notes such as "before noon" go to the driver, who calls about 30 minutes before arrival.
Do I need to be there for delivery?
Nobody needs to be there. Mark the spot with a cone or ribbon and leave gates unlocked.
How will the driver know where to put the porta potty?
Put out a cone, ribbon or stake, and describe the spot when you book, such as "south side of the building on the concrete slab." The notes go to the driver.
Will the driver call before arriving?
The driver calls about 30 minutes before arrival. Add a second contact if you will be away.
Do you deliver to Maryland?
We deliver to Hagerstown and Washington County, Maryland. See Washington County, MD.
Do you deliver to Harrisburg, York or Lancaster?
We serve those cities on scheduled routes with 2 to 5 business days of notice and a distance-based delivery charge. See service areas.
I found several porta potty numbers online. Are they all the same company?
Many online listings are booking services that pass your order to whoever is open. When you call us, you reach the local team that delivers to your address, with no middleman fees.
Pricing and payment
How much does a porta potty rental cost?
A standard event rental starts at $249 with delivery and pickup. A 28-day rental starts at $375 with 4 weekly cleanings. See the full price guide.
Is there a price difference between event and construction porta potties?
Event rentals are priced for up to 4 days with no mid-rental cleaning. Construction rentals are priced per 28-day cycle with 4 weekly cleanings. The unit itself is the same standard porta potty.
Is the price per day?
The event price covers up to 4 days on site. Longer rentals are priced per 28-day cycle.
Do you add fuel surcharges or card fees?
We do not add fuel surcharges or card fees. The quote total plus any sales tax is what you pay.
Do you charge sales tax?
PA sales tax is added where it applies. Tax-exempt groups send an exemption certificate and the tax comes off.
How do I pay?
We send a secure invoice link by text and email. You sign on your phone and pay by debit or credit card, including American Express.
Do you offer discounts?
Ask about discounts for churches, nonprofits, seniors and multi-unit orders. Any discount appears on your quote before you pay.
Why is the first month more than the second?
Delivery and pickup are charged once, in the first 28-day cycle. Renewal cycles cost less.
Units and features
Does a standard porta potty have a sink?
A standard unit has hand sanitizer, not a sink. Add a hand wash station or rent a deluxe flushing unit with a sink inside.
Do you have porta potties that flush?
Deluxe flushing units have a foot-pump fresh-water flush and a foot-pump sink. Restroom trailers have full flush toilets.
How many people can use one porta potty?
One standard unit serves about 50 guests for 4 hours, or up to 10 workers for a 40-hour week with weekly service.
Do you have handicap porta potties?
We rent wheelchair-accessible porta potties with ground-level floors, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space.
Does the porta potty come with a lock?
Units can be fitted with a lock hasp for your padlock. Leave the key where the driver can find it on service and pickup days.
Does a porta potty have a light?
Standard units have a translucent roof for daylight but no electric light. Restroom trailers have lights.
Do you rent restroom trailers?
Two-station restroom trailers are available for weddings, VIP areas and shelters. They need a 120-volt outlet and level ground.
Is the deluxe unit bigger than a standard porta potty?
The deluxe unit is about the same size, roughly 44 by 48 inches, so it fits the same spots.
Do you pump out porta potties or holding tanks you don't rent from us?
Pump-out service for existing units and holding tanks can be scheduled in our core area. Call with the address and tank size.
Cleaning and service
How often is the porta potty cleaned?
Units on 28-day rentals are serviced once a week. Extra visits cost from $65 each.
Does an event rental include cleaning?
Event units arrive clean and stocked. They are not serviced during a rental of up to 4 days unless you add a visit.
What does a service visit include?
Pumping the tank, cleaning the seat, urinal, walls and floor, fresh deodorizer, and new paper and sanitizer.
Will the porta potty smell?
Each unit has a roof vent and deodorizer, and weekly service keeps odor low. Place the door away from windows and patios in hot weather.
Can I reschedule a service visit if nobody can let you in?
Call or text by 3 p.m. the business day before and we move the visit to the next open day.
Can I get extra cleanings for a big crew or a busy weekend?
Extra service visits can be added any week. Many sites add a Friday visit before a heavy weekend.
Placement and site access
Can a porta potty go in my backyard?
A backyard works if the ground is level and the gate is at least 4 feet wide. The unit should sit within about 15 feet of where our truck can park.
Can a porta potty go on a slope?
A gentle slope is fine. A steep slope can tip the unit, so pick the flattest spot nearby.
Does the porta potty need to be on concrete?
Concrete, gravel, packed dirt and firm grass all work. It needs no hookups.
Does the porta potty need to be connected to anything?
A porta potty is self-contained. It needs no water, sewer or power connection.
Can it go in the parking lot?
A parking lot works if the spot is out of traffic. Mark it with cones so cars do not park there before delivery.
What if there is a low wire or tree branch?
Tell us when you book. The driver needs about 10 feet of clearance above the truck and the drop spot.
Can you set the porta potty right up against the building?
Units can sit close to a wall with a few inches of clearance. Leave the door side open and the back reachable for servicing.
Can I move the porta potty after it is delivered?
Please do not move it, because the tank holds liquid. Call or text and we move it on the next visit.
Events, churches and community groups
How many porta potties do I need for a church event of 100 people?
Two standard units cover a 4-hour church event of 100 people. Add 1 accessible unit if the public is invited. See the calculator.
Can I add a sink after I book?
Hand wash stations and swaps can be added until 3 p.m. the business day before delivery.
Do you rent porta potties for a police or fire company community night?
We supply units for community nights, fairs and fundraisers. Tax-exempt departments send a certificate and sales tax comes off.
Can I rent a porta potty for just one day?
A one-day event is priced as an event rental. We deliver the day before and pick up the next business day at no extra cost.
Do I need a permit for porta potties at a public event?
Events on Borough of Chambersburg streets or parks need a special event permit, and the restroom plan goes on it. Check your township for events elsewhere.
Can you supply restroom trailers and hand wash stations for an emergency shelter?
Trailers, standard units and hand wash stations can be sent for shelters and recovery sites, often the same or next day. Call with the head count.
Construction, homes and farms

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 requires toilets on construction sites: 1 for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. See construction rentals.
My contractor says I need a porta potty for my remodel. How long should I rent it?
Rent in 28-day cycles for the length of the job. Billing stops the day you call for pickup.

Do farms need porta potties for workers?
OSHA 1928.110 calls for 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility per 20 field workers within a quarter-mile walk. See farm rentals.
Can I rent a porta potty for a month for my house?
A 28-day rental with weekly cleaning is the usual choice for a house. Keep it longer and renewal cycles cost less.
Pickup, changes and cancellation
Do I need to call for pickup?
Call or text for pickup on 28-day rentals; billing stops that day. Event units are picked up on the quoted date.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel or reschedule free until 3 p.m. the business day before delivery. See the rental terms.
Can I change the delivery address after booking?
Address changes are free until 3 p.m. the business day before delivery. The price may change if the new address is farther away.
What if the porta potty gets damaged or tipped?
Call us right away. Normal wear is on us; damage such as fire, graffiti or a vehicle strike is billed at repair cost.
What if you cannot deliver when you arrive?
If a locked gate or blocked spot stops delivery, the driver calls you. A second trip may be charged if the site is still blocked.
